After being officially announced earlier this summer, Persona 6 will now officially also be coming to Nintendo Switch 2. Yet several months later, we still only have the game's spooky green logo to go on and no new information from Sega and Atlus.
The Switch 2 announcement was made towards the end of the September Nintendo Direct, following the reveal that Persona 4 Revival will also be coming to Nintendo Switch 2, albeit for May 20, 2027, several months after the remake releases on other platforms.
But while Persona 4 Revival had a trailer showing how it will run on Switch 2, nothing new was shown for Persona 6. The very brief teaser used the same dark cryptic imagery--including a flash of fractured text that appears to spell "Who are you?"--albeit also displaying it on the console's handheld screen.
Despite the lack of official information, a massive Steam leak has revealed achievements for Persona 6--as well as other major upcoming titles like Kingdom Hearts 4 and Fable--giving away many of its story details that Atlus has so far been reluctant to share.
Atlus has been known to tease its Persona games in the past. Persona 5 was first announced in 2013 with a teaser with minimal imagery, while a second teaser showing an anime cinematic from the game followed in 2014, and gameplay wasn't revealed until 2015. That might indicate that Persona 6 is still a long way out from release, though it seems unusual that this Switch 2 announcement didn't come with even a morsel of new teases, while eager fans can just dig into the leaks.
While the leak broke on the day of the Nintendo Direct, it remains to be seen whether Sega will now change its marketing strategy for Persona 6 and share more details of this highly anticipated JRPG sooner rather than later.
