Republican leader called Sacha Baron Cohen a “pervert” after discovering his role in the comedian’s new film. The El Paso County Republican Party chair revealed he plans to take legal action over his unwitting appearance in Ali G: Who Iz I?

Republican Party chair Michael Aboud threatens to sue for Ali G: Who Iz I?

Michael Aboud, chair of the El Paso County Republican Party, plans to sue Sacha Baron Cohen over his appearance in the new satirical film Ali G: Who Iz I?, as per The Guardian.

In the film, Aboud participates in a fake training programme led by Cohen’s character Col Erran Morad, who instructs Aboud and other MAGA sympathisers in absurd self-defence techniques. These include wearing protective plastic buttocks over clothing.

Aboud and former preacher Joshua Loudermilk then take part in a staged mission. The pair abduct a fictional drug kingpin’s pregnant girlfriend in a fake ambulance. They drive her to an unstaffed medical facility, where she gives birth to a prosthetic baby.

Aboud told the Guardian he was unaware the project was satirical until contacted by the newspaper. “Sasha Cohen is a pervert,” Aboud said. He added that Cohen and “his entire film crew” are “a bunch of liars” who “deceive people to benefit themselves.” He claimed the crew told him the project would be a documentary about border crossings. Aboud also urged people not to spend “one penny watching anything he produces or appears in.”

Loudermilk, however, appeared more aware of the film’s nature. He posted on Facebook that he “got to spend 12 hours one on one with Sasha” and that Cohen “taught me soooo much about the fun of making others laugh.” Film representatives told the Guardian that Loudermilk did not know about the project’s true nature.

The film also features disgraced former Republican congressman George Santos, who participates in a staged gameshow involving Nazi imagery. He told the Guardian he had “no involvement” and refused to justify his behaviour.
