The momentum of prices at the pump are maintaining course this week as international policy around reserves of fuel affects the market. While China suspended export of refined petroleum (including gasoline), G7 member countries also moved to release 100 million barrels of oil, primarily diesel.

For the period of October 13 to 19, 2026, the price of diesel will go down by P3.01 per liter, while gasoline prices will increase by P1.56 per liter. Finally, kerosene will also have a price increase of P1.77 per liter.

The global supply of oil remains pressured as the war in the Middle East continues to affect production and shipping infrastructure. The DOE previously stated that the Philippines’ fuel supply for October has been secured, and it was monitoring whether another shipment of diesel and kerosene would be needed for November and December.

At the agency’s press conference this morning, DOE secretary Sharon Garin also responded to calls for her resignation, allegedly having failed to address the ongoing energy crisis. She ultimately leaves the final decision to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., saying she “work[s] at the pleasure of the President.”
