A Chief Magistrate’s Court 2 sitting in Yola, Adamawa State, has sentenced a phone snatcher, Muhammed Aminu, to eight years in prison without an option of fine.

The prosecution told the court that Aminu was arrested on Monday, August 31, 2026, after he attacked one Zaraddeen Abdullahi of Bekaji, a community in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area.

He was said to have used weapons to injure his victim before seizing his Spark 7 mobile phone, valued at N80,000.

Aminu, a resident of Anguwan Tana in Yola North LGA, was arraigned before the court by the police prosecutor, Inspector Ahmed Abubakar.

He pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him, after which the prosecutor called a witness who corroborated his plea.

The court subsequently sentenced him to eight years in prison without an option of fine.
