• Porsche has increased its shareholding in Manthey Racing by 16%.
  • With a 67% stake, Porsche and Manthey plan to expand their collaboration.
  • Two new models will be released to celebrate Manthey’s 30th anniversary.

Porsche has made a significant expansion of its commitment to motorsports, increasing its stake in the German Manthey racing team. The move will bring about increased collaboration between the two brands. The two have worked together since 1996, and Porsche acquired a 51% majority stake in the team back in 2013.

If you’re a fan of GT racing, you’ll know Manthey’s long campaign of championing Porsches on the racetrack. It’s cars are present across a number of sports car series, including Germany’s DTM, the FIA World Endurance Championship, and the North American IMSA championship. They’ve tasted overall victory at the Nürburgring 24 hours seven times, and have come home with numerous championships as well.

And, proving that what is tested on track can eventually trickle down to us consumers, Manthey offers road-going performance kits to a number of Porsche models, including the 911 GT2 and GT3 RS, 718 Cayman GT4, and even the all-electric Taycan.

An Expanded Collaboration

With Porsche purchasing that extra 16%, it will put to bed any fears that the German sports car manufacturer had been looking to exit, after a dismal year saw the company’s stock price plummet.

It also means that we’ll be getting some new goodies from the partnership, the chief of which will be two new special-edition Porsches, set to be unveiled October 9, 2026. The reveal will coincide with Manthey’s 30-year anniversary and the DTM finale taking place at the Hockenheimring.

Another element of this announcement is the launch of what Porsche calls its “Home of Sports Cars.” This will be the umbrella that will combine a few verticals of Porsche’s sports offerings, including Heritage, Exclusiveness (specifically the Sonderwunsch and Exclusive Manufaktur limited editions), and Performance, which will now include Manthey.

“We see the increase in the shareholding as a personal mark of appreciation,” said Martin Raeder, the joint Managing Director of Manthey Racing GmbH. “We look forward to further deepening our collaboration and supporting Porsche’s strategy ‘Sportwagenschmiede ’35.'”
