Former Spain international Sergio Ramos has reacted to Cristiano Ronaldo’s retirement from international football on Thursday.
Ramos, who was a former Real Madrid teammate of Ronaldo, mixed a joke with a warm tribute after the Al-Nassr forward retired from the Portugal national team.
The former Spain defender, who won four Champions League titles together with Ronaldo, commented on the Portuguese's Instagram post.
His comment was shared via the @MadridXtra account on X.
Ramos wrote: “Oh, really...?? Ahahahah. What a legend; time to enjoy other things in life.”
Ronaldo’s retirement comes weeks after falling out with Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus, which resulted in a fine and a 30-day suspension.
