President Tinubu Arrives in Paris for Second Phase of European Holiday

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Paris, France, for the second leg of his three-week annual leave in Europe.

Officials close to the President confirmed the arrival to The PUNCH on Sunday. 

He was received by Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke, according to visuals shared with the newspaper.

Tinubu left Abuja on Sunday, August 30, 2026, beginning the holiday with a stop in London before continuing to Paris.

In a statement issued at the start of the leave by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga, titled “President Tinubu Begins Three-Week Leave,” the President is expected to return to Abuja afterward to join the campaign for the January 2027 general election.

His departure came a week after the All Progressives Congress released its Presidential Campaign Council list, naming Tinubu as chairman and Vice President Kashim Shettima as vice chairman.

Paris remains one of the President’s most frequent foreign destinations. Since taking office in May 2023, he has visited the French capital at least 13 times, spending more than 50 days there on official, working, and private trips.
