Us hoomans are not the only ones who absolutely love to spend the entire day in bed covered with a blanket and staying warm during the cold seasons. Our furry felines love as much, or even more, than we do. They are constantly looking for warm places, and sometimes they manage to end up trapped in the craziest places because of it. It's way easier for us when we just wrap them up in a blanket and leave them looking like a purrito. They get cozy, we laugh at how cute and silly they look, and we can all keep going through the day feeling cozy and wrapped in softness.
When it's cold, sometimes we wish we could curl up into a purrito ourselves and just exist there. No responsibilities, no need to get out of the house, no need to face the colder autumn weather. Just us, buried under a million different blankets. If only that could happen.
Sadly, it doesn't. We can't become slackers just because the temperature is going down. That is a luxury reserved only for our cats, who can definitely stop doing all of their usual cat things to curl up on the couch, on our beds, inside our closets, or wherever. Turning them into a nice and delicious-looking purrito is for us more than it is for them. They love it, most definitely, but we're the ones having fun with it in the first place. Grabbing a blanket and chasing our cats around the house to convince them to stay still long enough so we can effectively wrap them up is part of the charm. With smaller cats, it's easier. If they fit into the palm of our hand, we can just grab them and wrap them, and they fall instantly asleep in our hands. With adult cats might be a bigger issue to get them to stay put, but eventually they realize they love the warm blanket and stay there, melting into the purrito like butter.
