Real Madrid and Barcelona are interested in signing Mexico international Gilberto Mora.
According to Spanish outlet AS, the two La Liga giants are among the clubs monitoring Mora’s development at Tijuana.
The 17-year-old is widely regarded as one of the biggest midfield talents in the world.
He recently scored his first goal for the Mexican national team, helping them secure a 1-1 draw with Colombia.
Mora also impressed with his performances at the home World Cup, where El Tri lost to England in the last-16.
The youngster started three of Mexico’s five games at the tournament. He has earned 13 caps for the national side.
Mora came through Tijuana’s youth ranks and became the club’s youngest-ever debutant at 15 years in 2024.
He became the youngest goal scorer in Liga MX when he struck his first against Leon.
The teenager has made 62 appearances across all competitions for the Mexican club, with 15 goals and three assists to his name.
He plays as an attacking midfielder and is renowned for his composure, technical ability, creativity and game intelligence.
Mora signed a new contract with Tijuana until 2029 shortly before the World Cup.
However, it is said to be a strategic move by the club to facilitate the player’s transfer to a top European side for a huge fee.
