Gronkowski spent nine seasons in New England, winning three Super Bowls and establishing himself as one of the most dominant tight ends in NFL history. But the ceremony made clear that his legacy with the Patriots extends beyond his accomplishments on the field.
Former teammates, coaches, and members of the Kraft family shared stories about Gronkowski's personality, competitiveness, and impact on the organization. Those tributes reflected the connection he built with New England throughout his career.
Patriots owner Robert Kraft was unable to attend the ceremony while recovering from back surgery, but he sent Gronkowski a video message.
"Gronk, I love you, man. Since the first day we drafted you, I could see you on stage with your dad and your brothers and you became family right since that day," Kraft said. "And you make every day coming to work a happy day and smiling. There's no one like you that can do it."
Jonathan Kraft also praised Gronkowski's presence within the organization, explaining that his personality made an impression on everyone around him.
"Rob Gronkowski was put on this earth to do two things: to play football and to make people feel happy," Jonathan Jonathon Kraft said.

He added that Gronkowski's infectious energy and consistent positive presence helped inspire everyone in the building, from teammates and coaches to the training, equipment and stadium staffs.
Gronkowski's former teammates offered plenty of their own stories during the ceremony.
Matt Light praised the tight end's ability to overwhelm opposing defenses, famously explaining that there wasn't a player on the planet who could cover him. Light also presented Gronkowski with a "Yo Soy Hall of Famer" T-shirt, adding some humor to the celebration.

Nate Solder highlighted a different side of Gronkowski, discussing his generosity and the work he did with children and families in the community.
Solder recalled visiting the hospital with his son and finding Gronkowski downstairs spending time with patients. He praised the former tight end for being just as kind and generous away from the field as he was physically dominant on it.
Julian Edelman also sent a video message, calling Gronkowski the most dominant player he ever played with. Edelman particularly appreciated the way Gronkowski approached everyday life, explaining that his ability to maintain a smile and bring joy to those around him was an inspiration to his teammates.
Gronkowski's community involvement received its own recognition during the ceremony. Through the Gronk Nation Youth Foundation, he has supported children and charitable organizations throughout New England, including the development of Gronk Park along Boston's Charles River.
When Gronkowski finally took the podium to accept his red jacket, he made sure to recognize the fans who embraced him from the moment he arrived in New England.
He recalled watching the 2010 NFL Draft and feeling a connection to the Patriots after former linebacker Tedy Bruschi publicly advocated for the team to select him.
Although Gronkowski initially was disappointed he wasn't drafted in the first round, he ultimately believed things worked out exactly as they were supposed to.
"I fell to the Patriots for a reason. I came to the Patriots for a cause. It's where I belong. It's where I was meant to be," Gronkowski said.
He also credited Patriots fans with helping him become comfortable with his personality, explaining that their support helped shape the Gronk persona that became so recognizable throughout his career.
"You guys created the Gronk persona by loving it so much," Gronkowski said. "You guys helped create the Gronk spike by going so ham over it that no matter what, I had to keep spiking it."
The former tight end also shared his appreciation for Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, his former coaches and teammates, explaining how their work ethic pushed him to become a better player.
Gronkowski credited his relationship with Brady for helping him develop into one of the NFL's most productive receivers. He recalled spending extra time after practice and working together during the offseason until their chemistry became one of the most dangerous connections in football.
He also thanked his family, including his parents and brothers, for helping shape his career, along with his longtime partner Camille Kostek.
Gronkowski finished his acceptance speech by reflecting on what it meant to become part of the Patriots organization and receive an honor reserved for the franchise's most influential players.
"This honor today means everything to me. The hard work, the injuries, the surgeries, the good times, the difficult times, it's all worth it to me now," Gronkowski said.
