Roy Keane picks out England star who can inspire others after Croatia win

Roy Keane has praised Jude Bellingham following his brilliant display in England’s 7-0 victory over Croatia in the Nations League on Saturday.

Bellingham came off the bench against Czechia, making him well-rested for the game against Slaven Bilic’s side.

He scored one goal and provided three assists, becoming the first England midfielder to register four goal involvements in a match since David Platt achieved the feat in February 1993.

The 23-year-old created the most chances (eight), completed the joint-most dribbles (four) and had the most touches (108).

The Real Madrid midfielder was voted the Three Lions’ man of the match.

Keane praised Bellingham for his performance, highlighting his outstanding abilities with and without the ball.

“Bellingham can go on to become one of the greatest players of all time,” the former Manchester United midfielder told ITV.

“His attitude for England recently…I have been praising him for being fantastic in possession, but what he is doing out of possession, that lifts all these players.

“If you have a player who is that good in your team, who is amazing in possession and is playing for Real Madrid and doing brilliant things, but his work rate off the ball, that will inspire all the other players.”

Bellingham registered 14 ground duels, one tackle and one interception, as well as two recoveries, highlighting his defensive contributions.

The former Borussia Dortmund player was the best player for Thomas Tuchel’s side at the World Cup and was recently named England Men’s Player of the Year.
