An acclaimed romantic crime thriller starring Samara Weaving has finally hit Netflix. Adam Rehmeier helms the movie, which also stars Kyra Sedgwick, Kyle Gallner, and more.
Netflix subscribers can now stream Samara Weaving’s Carolina Caroline, according to What’s on Netflix. The movie’s captivating plot may remind some viewers of a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style experience. It premiered in theaters on June 5, 2026.
What makes Carolina Caroline a different kind of crime thriller? The Southern Gothic romantic crime thriller follows Caroline Daniels, a small-town woman from West Texas, played by Samara Weaving. She soon gets caught up in a con man’s dangerous criminal world.
The official synopsis reads, “But as confidence games escalate into more elaborate heists, Caroline transforms into a criminal icon and notorious bank robber, ultimately internalizing the central truth of every con: There’s no lie more convincing than the one you tell yourself.”
Carolina Caroline seems to draw inspiration from past lovers-on-the-run movies such as Natural Born Killers and blends in its own gritty, dark elements. The chemistry between the leads is what makes the film worth watching. Since its original release, critics and fans have mostly responded positively.
The crime thriller currently holds a spectacular 90% Tomatometer score and 78% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes. When it hit the big screens earlier this year, the film made over $382K worldwide during its entire theatrical run.
The ensemble cast also features John Gries, Tommy G. Kendrick, Jenny Frame, Sonny Burnette, and P.J. Sosko, among others. Rehmeier directed the film from a script by Tom Dean. The filmmaker previously worked on films such as the romantic drama Dinner in America and the comedy-drama Snack Shack. Tim White has produced the movie, alongside Trevor White, Stephen Braun, Eric B. Fleischman, Chris Abernathy, and Chris Ward.
Magnolia Pictures’ Carolina Caroline is now streaming on Netflix.
