Netflix has officially announced The Inbetweeners 3 in a new teaser trailer. Simon Bird is returning as Will McKenzie for the long-awaited third film. James Buckley, Blake Harrison, and Joe Thomas will also reprise their roles as Jay, Neil, and Simon.
The announcement ends years of speculation about a third film. The Inbetweeners first premiered on E4 in 2008. The sitcom followed four friends as they dealt with school, dating, parties, and their embarrassing misadventures. Its popularity led to two successful films, released in 2011 and 2014.
The Inbetweeners 2 marked the characters’ last major appearance together. Since then, fans have repeatedly wondered whether the group would reunite for another film. Netflix has now made that reunion official.

The trailer offers a brief but nostalgic first look at the sequel. However, it immediately brings back one of the franchise’s most recognizable elements, the group’s yellow Fiat Cinquecento. The teaser opens with a garage door rising to reveal the car. The four friends then walk toward it before getting inside. Simon takes the driver’s seat and tries to start the vehicle.
As expected, the Fiat initially refuses to start. After some frustration, Simon finally manages to get the engine running. The car then pulls out of the garage. The trailer ends with a simple reveal on the rear window. The number “3” appears in the dirt, confirming the long-awaited third installment.
Netflix revealed that The Inbetweeners 3 is officially in production. The teaser does not reveal the story or confirm details about the characters’ latest misadventures. However, the original cast and creative team are all returning. The announcement confirms that the film will continue the existing franchise rather than reboot it
Production is now underway in the UK. Creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris are returning to write and direct. Netflix has not yet revealed a release date.
