I’ve been building a Windows app that brings Sketchware Pro’s block-based workflow to the desktop. It’s in beta and not complete yet.

Technical notes that might interest this sub:

  • Electron + React + TypeScript
  • The Java code generator was converted from Sketchware Pro’s decompiled/source Java with an automated porter, so the generated Android Studio project matches what Sketchware Pro produces
  • Projects are stored in the same encrypted format (AES-CBC), so projects and .swb backups move between the phone and the desktop
  • Builds a debug APK with Gradle (AGP 8.x) and installs it over adb

Known gaps: not every block and widget is implemented yet, and the APK pipeline is only tested on a few cases.

I’d especially appreciate feedback on the code generator’s output and on the architecture. If you spot something wrong in the generated Java/XML, please open an issue.
