Spain winger Victor Munoz called it "a privilege" to learn from Lamine Yamal as they compete for the same position in Luis De la Fuente's lineup.

Both players were a part of Spain's World Cup-winning squad in the summer, though Munoz did not feature due to injury as La Roja lifted the trophy for a second time in their history.

While Yamal also failed to have his desired impact at the tournament, he has helped Spain make a strong start to their Nations League campaign during this international break.

The teenager has scored three goals and provided one assist in wins over England and Croatia, with Munoz also featuring against the latter.

Yamal is currently one of the favourites to win the Ballon d'Or this month, and Munoz is making the most of training with the Barcelona superstar.

"I try to learn a lot from him; he’s a good friend of mine and we spend a lot of time together," said Munoz.

"It’s a privilege for me and he helps me a lot in my day-to-day life.

"[De la Fuente tells me to] just be myself. Try to help the team in attack and defence, try to be direct and try one-on-one. Those are what I think are my strengths."

Munoz completed a reported £35m (€40m) move to Liverpool in the summer, scoring once in six games so far, three of which were starts.

His only goal was an equaliser against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, with Andoni Iraola's side still unbeaten across all competitions in 2026-27 (W4 D3).

"I do notice a difference between LaLiga and the Premier League," added the 23-year-old.

"LaLiga is more tactical, the Premier League is more physical. The intensity of the training sessions there is very high and it's helping me grow."
