The Witcher 3 Remastered hotfix 5.01b is now available on PS5 and PS5 Pro, with general stability improvements aimed at making the game more reliable. The separate Nintendo Switch 2 patch is still being worked on, and CD Projekt Red has not announced a release date for it, according to Eurogamer and Gameblog.

The PlayStation update is a small follow-up to a broader remaster, rather than the Switch 2 update arriving by another name. Players on Nintendo’s console are still waiting for their own patch.

A short fix for the PlayStation versions

Hotfix 5.01b covers PS5 and PS5 Pro only. Its entire listed description is a general note about stability improvements; neither Eurogamer nor Gameblog identifies particular bugs or spells out which parts of the game have changed.

That leaves the practical details modest: PlayStation players can install the update, but there is no specific fix list to check against a problem they have encountered. It is another step in the follow-up support for the remastered edition, which has been receiving fixes since its release.

The edition makes substantial changes to visuals, animations, skills and some gameplay. Eurogamer reported that the free upgrade arrived 11 years after the original game, and that some players had objected to its brighter appearance. Patches have addressed that aspect. The remastered version of The Witcher 3 is therefore receiving attention on more than one front, even if this particular hotfix keeps its ambitions restrained.

CD Projekt Red has separately reassured players on X that work on the Nintendo Switch 2 patch is continuing and that it wants to get the update to users as soon as possible. The patch is expected to improve the game’s visual clarity and sharpness, but the studio has not provided a date for its arrival.

Those points do not turn hotfix 5.01b into a cross-platform release. The PlayStation fix is already available, while the Switch 2 update remains pending as a distinct piece of work. The available information also does not specify when it will arrive or give a detailed list of changes beyond the expected visual improvements.

The distinction matters for players waiting on Nintendo’s version: the newly released number belongs to the PS5 and PS5 Pro hotfix, not a Switch 2 rollout. Earlier Witcher 3 Remastered patch updates have likewise been part of the game’s ongoing post-release support.

For now, the confirmed next step is simply the Switch 2 patch reaching players when CD Projekt Red is ready to release it. The studio’s public update gives no firmer timetable than that.
