Sydney Sweeney was really excited about ‘Just Sports’ ad for NovigSydney Sweeney expressed genuine enthusiasm about her “Just Sports” campaign for Novig, the sports prediction market. In an exclusive interview with Complex, Sweeney revealed she helped shape the campaign’s creative direction. “Because I’ve been a part of the creative conversations from the very beginning,” she said, “I had built an amazing relationship with everyone involved, and I was really excited to get to set.”
Sweeney joined Novig as a strategic partner and equity holder alongside starring in the campaign. She described the ad as “a very simple and playful idea” aimed to “really bring the concept of ‘just sports’ to life.” The spot features Sweeney posing nude with strategically placed sports equipment including footballs and basketballs. “Think you know sports? Prove it,” she tells the camera in the ad. “Novig is just sports. So they wanted to show just sports.”
The actress stressed that meaningful collaboration drove her involvement with the brand. “I don’t like to just put my face on something,” Sweeney explained. “I really want to be able to get into the weeds of it with an amazing team.” She also praised Novig co-founder Jacob Fortinsky directly. “Jacob’s incredible, and I believed in him as a founder,” she added.
Sweeney also valued the partnership beyond just appearing on screen for the company. “Being able to be a part of watching this company grow and not just be the face of it is really important to me,” she said. She filmed the campaign while away in Australia shooting Netflix’s live-action Gundam. Her glam team and longtime collaborators traveled to join her on set.
Novig launched nationwide last month under a federally regulated framework as a 21-plus sports prediction market. The platform maintains a sports-only focus, excluding politics and other categories from its marketplace. The campaign debuted ahead of football season’s kickoff this week.
