Texas A&M baseball gave Michael Earley and his staff plenty to evaluate during Friday night’s 13-10 fall exhibition victory over McNeese at Blue Bell Park.

The Aggies used 11 pitchers during the scheduled 12-inning game and recorded 23 strikeouts. Gavin Lyons opened the night with five strikeouts over two innings, while Logan Prisco retired all six batters he faced and struck out three. Freshman Chandler Hart also made a strong impression late. He struck out the side in the 12th inning after A&M had regained control of a back-and-forth exhibition.

Nico Partida led the offense, reaching base in all six plate appearances. He went 3-for-3 with three walks and scored once, continuing to give A&M production from one of the few established players returning from last season. The Aggies trailed 2-0 before scoring four runs in the fifth. McNeese later reclaimed the lead in the ninth, but A&M answered in the bottom half with five runs, taking advantage of four consecutive bases-loaded walks.

McNeese tied the game at 10 in the 10th after two defensive errors helped extend the inning. Freshman infielder Cole Travers responded with the night's biggest swing, hitting a two-run home run off the scoreboard in left field. Zane Becker added an RBI single in the 12th.

A&M collected 14 hits and drew 16 walks but left 19 runners on base. The pitching staff also issued eight walks, and the defense committed three errors.

The result won't carry much weight once spring begins. However, the Aggies saw several newcomers produce in high-leverage situations while leaving Earley and his staff plenty to address before opening day.
