What's new in your relationship this week? Nothing? That's a good sign!

There is this common belief that life needs to be exciting and full of events all the time. Well, that's not true at all. If you are always looking for something new, it will get to a point where you are just tired of everything. There is this thing about always looking to be entertained, as if being bored was a bad thing. Let me tell you something about boredom: it activates your imagination; it makes your brain work. So seeing boredom as the worst thing is a horrible misconception that has been accepted by people whose brains are fried from the constant overstimulation of social media. Being bored is a part of life; it is calm, it relaxes you. With all this, I'm not saying that your relationship needs to be boring; that sounds awful. What I mean by all this is that something really valuable about love, and most times forgotten, is getting to feel peace by sharing a space with that person you love without having to do anything. Get to simply enjoy the energy of each other while also feeling the relaxation that you were needing all week.

It's great to make plans and adventures with your partner. It's important to stay active in your relationship and not base it solely on watching Netflix in bed. A relationship is much more than that. But that doesn't mean that just because you are in a relationship, you need to be all the time doing something, talking about something, or planning. You can just relax, enjoy the energy, and calm down for once. You need to stop sometimes, and what's more beautiful than getting to stop and recharge with the person you love the most? It is great to have someone with whom you can just chill; that is also a part and a form of love, so enjoy it.

Social media is always portraying an image of what a relationship should look like, but what do they know? Every relationship is a world on its own. So enjoy whatever it is that you like and stop obsessing over superficial facts like if you go out enough, how many pictures of each other you have, or how much you socialize with other couples. A relationship is not a competition, nor is there one way to leave it. Do whatever you enjoy doing with each other; the only important thing about it is to love each other and respect each other. Other than that, do whatever you want! There is no need to go out if you don't want to. There is no need to be preoccupied with anything. Just enjoy it. Sometimes in a healthy relationship, to be bored is to simply love each other so much that you don't need to be doing something every split second. You can just relax and enjoy doing nothing together. Not everything is an adventure you can hop on. Sometimes a moment to chill is much more romantic.
