The Mack Museum was created in 1984 and commemorates Mack history through preserving truck build records, service and parts information, engineering drawings, photos, memorabilia and a collection of vintage Mack truck models.
After being founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1900, the Mack Brothers Motor Company registered in Lehigh County, in Allentown PA. They kept the headquarters in Allentown for over 100 years until they moved it to North Carolina in 2009.
Some of the highlights of the museum include the original and iconic bulldog, Mack, who is the mascot, the 1909 Mack Brothers Bus, the Megatron prop used in the Transformers: Dark of the Moon film, the experimental and specialized rigs, and the archives.
You do need to book a guided tour, and tours are given on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
