A load of new options has been added to the Porsche Cayenne Electric configurator for its new model year, the most interesting of which has to be the wireless charging pad.
And no, we’re not talking about a tiny little wireless charger on the dashboard for your phone. This is wireless charging for the whole Cayenne. Porsche first showed us the tech late last year, but it’s now available to order and includes two separate weatherproof pads—one bolted to the underside of the car, and one you place on your driveway or in a garage.

All you have to do to start charging is line yourself up using the infotainment screen and park in the right place. It’ll then automatically start providing juice at speeds of up to 11kW. Neat.

Elsewhere on the expanded options list is access to the full Paint to Sample program, meaning you now get the choice of 105 different colors for your Cayenne or Cayenne Coupe. For a price, of course.

Should you wish, you can also now spec electrically operated doors that open and close at the touch of a button, and there’s a new ‘massage experience’ that combines the usual back and bum prodding with 4D audio via six sound actuators in each front seat.
It’s those lurid paints that you really want to play with right now, though, isn’t it? Head on over to the configurator and let us know what color combos you come up with…
