The R Garage car museum up in Bauang, La Union was recently given a Travelers’ Choice award by TripAdvisor, reflecting its status as a consistently well-rated and reviewed attraction on the travel platform. It currently has a five-star rating across 166 reviews, many of which praise the museum’s well-maintained exhibits and friendly staff.
R Garage prides itself as the first and largest Toyota museum in the Philippines as well as Southeast Asia, housing several historic nameplates like the Corolla, Land Cruiser, and Supra. The museum was founded by father-and-son duo Rene and Richmond So with the goal of celebrating the brand’s long history in the country.

The main exhibit, titled the Pit Lane, houses most of the museum’s collection. Multiple generations of Toyota nameplates can be found side-by-side here, displaying their evolution through the years. Solo displays of unique models like the Sports 800 and the Sera are also here.

A secondary exhibit titled Revline displays art pieces and installations connected to car culture. Popular displays include the Vios Cup racecar body disassembled to appear like parts on a plastic model kit’s runners, and a Pokemon-themed Wigo build. Other features at R Garage include a children’s play area, cafe, and events hall.

R Garage is located along MacArthur Highway in Bauang, La Union, and is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 6pm. The museum charges a P350 entrance fee for adults, P250 for PWDs and senior citizens, and P200 for high school and elementary students. Children five years old and below can enter free of charge.
