It’s only taken ten episodes for the residents of Silo 18 to realize they need to work together in Silo Season 3.

At long last, it has, and it’s just in the nick of time.

Meanwhile, we get a look behind the voice of the Algorithm as Silo Season 3 Episode 10 takes us into Silo 1.

When Silo Season 3’s premiere opened with Juliette with no memories of her past, something felt off.

She wasn’t the Juliette we once knew, and little did we know it foreshadowed what was to come in the finale.

At first, it felt like the use of the memory drugs in the present day was to connect to the story in the “Before Times,” as Charlotte also lost her memory.

However, on a deeper level, it was meant to alert us to what would happen in the finale: everything that was going on in Silo 1.

There was always a bigger plan for getting people into those silos. There was always a reason the senator wanted Daniel in there.

Silo Season 3’s finale reveals what that was: he is the big problem-solver.

Of course, with the moral compass that he has, there was no way that he would do what needed to be done with all his memories.

As Victor, the Senator, and clearly Henry get to keep their memories — and I’m assuming, because they keep their own names — Daniel, who is now Troy, is stripped of everything.

He doesn’t even have a flash of deja vu or a feeling like he knows Charlotte, who is now Susan, when he sees her. Neither of them does.

What we get is a robot of sorts. He’s willing to kill to protect the project.

He’s the one to order the death of almost 10,000 silo residents when they escape Silo 17.

Susan/Charlotte can’t do it, and it’s clear that Victor is struggling with the decision.

There’s even a look from Victor that hints that he knows this isn’t the Daniel he once understood and came to like.

As the episode comes to an end, we can see the regret in Victor’s eyes long before he utters the words.

Does this make me like Victor? Not at all, but I think he gives us a look at a creator who somewhat regrets his own creation.

He’s a lot like Oppenheimer and Tim Berners-Lee, people who have realized that their inventions were used for evil purposes, and it’s worth highlighting.

However, the focus is on Troy.

When Troy is woken from cryo again, he still has only the memories he’s been given. 

I’m not sure how this memory-wiping thing works, because he remembers who he is, who Victor and Henry are, and a few other details, but he doesn’t remember that he’s asked about Helen before.

That’s something I’d love to see Silo Season 4 delve into, but I don’t need it this minute.

What I do need is what Troy is going to do with the information that he now has.

With Helen now in his consciousness for a while and with him having a name, will he start to remember who he is?

Will he eventually see the Pez, and will it all come flooding back? I do worry about how much guilt he’ll feel when his memory does come back.

He’s not going to stand by the agreement that he made with Juliette and the others. At least, not as Troy.

Silo 18 Finally Comes Together

At long last, though, Silo 18 saved themselves by finally getting on the same page on Silo Season 3.

Camille was good. I thought she was still hoping to gas out Shirley and Knox to stop them from capping the pipe.

I don’t buy the way the pipe was capped. The gas would have gotten through small gaps.

It was only when Victor realized that it was oxygen that I could see what she was doing.

The relief I felt that she had actually listened to Juliette took over for a second. After a season of watching her be so hard-headed, I didn’t think it would happen.

But then I realized that I shouldn’t have been surprised. Camille has always played both sides.

She became the Head of IT because, when it came to the rebellion, she knew she had to keep a foot in both camps until it was time to pick the winner.

That’s exactly what she’s done.

If she really wanted to take out Juliette and Mechanical — if she really believed that Silo 1 would win — she would have sent people out to clean long before Bernard handed himself in.

Now, she’s picked a side, though. There is no coming back from this, but there is another choice to make.

Does she follow Juliette in taking down Silo 1, or does she fight to keep Silo 18 in line so that Troy won’t find a way around the safeguard being capped?

After a season of a lot of individual storylines, I’m ready to see one focus: Silo 18 vs. Silo 1.

Yes, we need to revisit Silo 17. Lucas, Kennedy, Solo, and the kids are still over there, but Juliette can’t get to them without dealing with Silo 1 first.

There is no way Troy will follow through with Victor’s deal to have the kids come across. Especially not after what Silo 18 has done.

So, Juliette needs to hope she can figure out how to take down the team controlling the entire project, and it’s a thrilling way to end the season.

As much as I didn’t enjoy the “Before Times” storyline, Silo Season 3’s finale picked things back up and made me want more.

I’m ready for Silo Season 4. I am so glad the renewal came ahead of time!
