Ford Philippines has officially launched a new Ranger variant. The new Wildtrak-X comes with a 4x4 drivetrain and a V6 turbodiesel engine, and is the current top-spec variant below the Raptor, with a standard retail price of P2,609,000

The Wildtrak-X looks quite similar to the rest of the Ranger lineup. Like the standard Wildtrak—which now also packs a turbodiesel V6—it has a suite of driver-assist and safety features like a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, and hill-descent control, among other things.

Of course, the main highlight of this variant is its engine. As mentioned, the Wildtrak-X and Wildtrak both feature a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 producing 247hp and 600Nm of torque—the same one in the new Everest Platinum. This engine delivers all that torque through a 10-speed automatic transmission and a 4WD terrain management system with selectable drive modes. Previously, if you wanted a V6-equipped Ranger, you had to go for the gasoline-powered Ranger Raptor.
