Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a sexual assault reported in Waterloo and have released a photo of a man they wish to identify and speak to in connection with the incident.
On June 27, it’s alleged that an adult female victim was sexually assaulted by multiple people at a residence in the area of Albert St. and University Ave. W.
A 23-year-old man from Wellesley Township and a 31-year-old man from Waterloo were arrested and charged with sexual assault cause bodily harm and sexual assault.
Police wish to speak with the third man.

ASSAULT CHARGE FOR TORONTO MAN
Toronto Police have charged a 62-year-old Toronto man with an offence motivated by hatred (assault with a weapon).
Cops said on Monday they attended a call for a person with a knife in the Warden Ave. and Ellesmere Rd. area.
It’s alleged that the victim was waiting near a bus stop when the accused approached the victim and produced an edged weapon and held it near the victim’s neck.
It’s further alleged that the victim backed away from the accused, who yelled anti-Chinese slurs toward the victim and attempted to leave the area. Officers located the accused nearby and Nickolaos Galanis was arrested and charged.
This investigation is being treated as a suspected hate-motivated offence.

CHARGES UPGRADED IN FATAL CRASH
Peel police have upgraded charges against a tow truck driver to dangerous operation causing death after a pedestrian involved in a collision last year has died from his injuries.
Cops said on Dec. 16, 2025, at around 3:50 p.m., a 45-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a tow truck while crossing Rathburn Rd. E. near Dixie Rd. in Mississauga.
The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local trauma centre and on July 29, the victim succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
On March 24, Abner Zuniga, 49, of Mississauga, was charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm and that charge has now been upgraded.

MISSISSAUGA MAN FACING DRUG CHARGES
A 30-year-old Mississauga man faces four charges following a drug investigation into a male suspect alleged to be selling suspected cocaine in St. Catharines.
In July, the probe began by detectives with the Niagara Regional Police and on Sept. 1, 2026, they executed search warrants at a McArthur Lane address in Thorold and at a Willowlanding Court address in Welland.
Cops seized 1053.5 grams of suspected cocaine, with an approximate street value of $100,000, at the Thorold address and $48,105 in Canadian currency and $20 in USD at the Welland address.
Police say another 30.4 grams of suspected cocaine and $100 USD were seized in the suspect’s vehicle.
Ismail Ahmed was arrested and charged with two counts of possess schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime Over $5000, and personation to obtain property interest (fraud).
Chantal Fournier, 35, of Welland, was also charged with possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000.

WITNESSES SOUGHT AFTER PEDESTRIAN STRUCK IN MARKHAM
York Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was struck in a Markham parking lot on Monday around 9:20 a.m.
Cops responded to the area of Markham Road and Highglen Ave. and a 77-year-old woman was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and was not injured.
Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, as well as anyone with dashcam footage from the area around the time of the collision, to contact investigators.

E-SCOOTER COLLISON
A 16-year-old male suffered life-altering injuries after his e-scooter collided with a vehicle in Pickering on Tuesday at around 7 p.m. in the area of Whites Rd. and Finch Ave.
Durham police say a grey Toyota Sienna was travelling northbound on Whites Rd., making a right turn when it collided with an electric scooter in the crosswalk.
Officers arrived on scene the electric scooter rider was taken to a Toronto area trauma centre and his condition remains stable while the 43-year-old car driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police.
