IndiaAIFounders — This trailer for the 6 Hours of Fuji pays homage to the coolest scene in ‘Cars’

The sixth round of the 2026 World Endurance Championship is coming up this weekend: the 6 Hours of Fuji. It’s also the home race of this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans winner, Toyota Racing. To hype up the race weekend at Fuji Speedway, the WEC posted a special trailer on Twitter/X and Instagram paying homage to one of the most memorable car scenes in film.

The promotional clip is a riff on the iconic Cars scene featuring a gang of tuner cars pranking Lightning McQueen’s trailer truck, Mack. You might have seen memes on TikTok and Reels of people dropping everything they’re doing and watching intently whenever this scene comes on, and you can’t really blame them—it just goes so hard.

This time, though, our protagonist is the Toyota TR010 Hybrid being taken to a storage facility. A pack consisting of a GT86, a GR86, an A90 Supra, and a JZX100 Mark II soon pulls up behind it, getting ready to make their next move. In other words, it’s an all-Toyota gang tricked out with aggressive aero, neon underglow, and flaming exhaust tips scouting out the WEC hypercar.

As the tuners surround the trailer truck, the computer inside glitches out and sets a new course for the Fuji Speedway. It’s a simple video that runs for just over a minute, but the slick camera work and the cool builds all come together to make a hypnotizing homage.

At the moment, Toyota holds the top spot in the Hypercar World Endurance Manufacturers’ Championship. It’s not the runaway leader, however, as BMW (and to some extent Ferrari) are still within striking distance with three races left to go in the season.

The 6 Hours of Fuji takes place from September 25 to 27, with qualifying taking place on Saturday and the race itself running on Sunday.
