This 1970 Pontiac GTO hardtop coupe was purchased by the current owner in the mid-1990s and then underwent a cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment. The car is powered by a 400ci V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a Safe-T-Track limited-slip differential, and the Atoll Blue body has a body-color Endura front bumper, a raised rear wing, sport mirror housings, and a twin-scoop hood with a tachometer. The car is also equipped with Rally II wheels, power steering, front disc brakes, sway bars, and Flowmaster mufflers. The cabin is outfitted with blue vinyl bucket seats, a Hurst shifter, air conditioning, and a push-button radio. This GTO hardtop is now offered on consignment by the selling dealer, a BaT Local Partner, with a Protect-O-Plate, a copy of the window sticker, the owner’s manual, spare parts, and a clean Wisconsin title.

The car left the factory finished in Atoll Blue (28) and is believed to have been repainted in the factory shade in the early 2000s. Exterior equipment includes a color-keyed Endura front bumper, quad headlights, a twin-scoop hood, a hood-mounted tachometer, a rear wing, and quad exhaust outlets. The 14″ Rally II wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. A full-size spare is located in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering as well as front and rear sway bars. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.

The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in blue vinyl, and faux woodgrain trim accents the instrument panel. A Hurst shifter and storage compartment are found in the center console, and appointments include engine-turned trim, a push-button radio, and air conditioning.

The Formula-style steering wheel sits on a tilting column and frames a 140-mph speedometer flanked by an analog clock and a combination gauge indicating engine temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 6k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 400ci V8 is equipped with a single four-barrel carburetor and a twin-snorkel air cleaner, and it was factory rated at 350 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a Safe-T-Track differential. The dual exhaust system has Flowmaster mufflers.

 

A copy of a window sticker lists initial delivery to Miller Pontiac Inc. of Ravenna, Ohio, along with factory colors, equipment, and a total amount of $4,440.
