DETROIT — The Tigers' series finale with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday, Aug. 30 will have to wait a bit, as rain and inclement weather ensconced southeast Michigan.
The scheduled 1:40 p.m. first pitch between the teams will not go on as planned, the Tigers announced. A new start time has yet to be announced.
Rain soaked much of Michigan overnight, and the infield at Comerica Park remained covered in the tarp throughout the entire pregame regimen. Water visibly pooled around the warning track when there was precipitation, though it dried out quickly when the rain briefly ceased in moments.
The forecast projects a gap in the weather in the middle of the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service, but radar also indicates a series of potential thunderstorms moving through the area.
The Tigers and Dodgers split the first two games of this series.
