President Bola Tinubu arrived in Uyo on Friday for a working visit during which he is expected to inaugurate several major infrastructure projects executed by the administration of Governor Umo Eno and participate in a political rally organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The President departed Abuja earlier in the day as part of a two-state tour covering Akwa Ibom and Rivers states. The visit marks one of his notable engagements in the South-South region since the APC began preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
On arrival at the Victor Attah International Airport, Tinubu was welcomed by Governor Eno, senior government officials, APC stakeholders, and a large crowd of supporters.
Among the projects scheduled for commissioning are the newly completed international terminal building, the International Airport Hospital, and the Ibom Aviation Village, all situated within the airport complex.
The President is also expected to inaugurate the Airport–Okopedi Road, which links communities in Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, as well as Ring Road 3, connecting Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through parts of Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.
Additional projects listed for inauguration include the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre, and the ARISE Palm Resort.
Following the commissioning ceremonies, Tinubu is expected to proceed to the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, where he will attend an APC political rally.
Further details are expected later.
