Every summer, Transfer Deadline Day brings thrills, excitement, and promise to many clubs throughout the Premier League and all of Europe.
Even with the 2026/27 season already under way, clubs have been able to secure outside talent and bring players into the mix, both superstars and squad contributors alike.
Top Premier League clubs have spent big money already on the likes of Morgan Rogers, Elliot Anderson, Bradley Barcola, and many other star players, but there are still funds to be spent before the transfer window slams shut. Teams like Tottenham, Everton, Chelsea, and even defending champions Arsenal have been linked to other players who could join before the registration period ends.
Outside of Europe, other top clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG, and many other big-name sides are looking to keep wheeling and dealing all the way up until the very end.

Oh, Everton...
2:55 p.m. - Hold up, there could be a twist in the Folarin Balogun deal. Everton have an agreement in place worth in excess of £50m. But L'Equipe is reporting that tying up Iliman Ndiaye sale to Manchester City is taking longer than expected, meaning Everton might run out of time to seal the Balogun transfer. Surely not? Don't these people have staff?!
Strikers on the move
2:20 p.m. - Nick Woltemade had a hand in Newcastle's 2-0 win at Tottenham on Sunday and that looks like a farewell. Matias Fernandez-Pardo's arrival from Lille and Yoane Wissa's resurgent form have left the Germany international free to join Juventus on a season-long loan. Beto is also Serie A-bound and has joined Fiorentina from Everton, who anticipate Folarin Balogun's arrival to be sealed in the coming hours.
Ethan Nwaneri isn't a striker, but he can go in this post too. After spending time at Marseille last season, the Arsenal youngster is on his way to Borussia Dortmund on loan.

One in, one out at Liverpool
2:06 p.m. - Liverpool fans look set to be left in a state of uncertainty at the end of this transfer window. Their squad is talented, Bradley Barcola is a marquee arrival but they lack a specialist right-winger and the squad looks thin in central midfield and at right-back. There is some low-key activity at Anfield today, though. Harvey Elliott has joined Valencia on loan, hoping for a more successful jaunt in La Liga than his unhappy stay at Aston Villa provided last term. Highly-rated goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans has signed from Genk for £30m but will return to the Belgian club on loan this season. Reportedly a target for Real Madrid as well, Brughmans has penned a six-year contract on Merseyside.
Chelsea options to replace Fernandez
12:50 p.m. - Reporting earlier in the day suggested that Chelsea would only sanction a move for Fernandez if they had a replacement lined up. As of now, that does not appear to be the case, with the massive fee on the table and the players desire to leave ultimately persuading them to give the green flag. Roma's Manu Kone and Monaco's Lamine Camara are players thought to be on their radar, but the deadline is a little over five hours away.
City to equal British transfer record with Fernandez signing
12:05 p.m. - Transfer market experts David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano are reporting that City and Chelsea have finally reached an agreement for Enzo Fernandez to move to Manchester. The fee will be £125m ($169m), equalling the British record outlay Liverpool sanctioned to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle 12 months ago. Prior to that, Fernandez's £106.8m move to Chelsea from Benfica in January 2023 was the most expensive in British history. The Argentina midfielder is the first player in history to move for in excess of £100m twice.

Mateta to stay at Palace
11:35 a.m. - As per The Times, wantaway Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta will stay at Selhurst Park until at least January, when he will be into the final six months of his contract. It's a messy situation, with Palace having rebuffed offers from Aston Villa in the past two windows, while Mateta has also been in dispute with Palace of the contract extension that was triggered for this season. A proposed move to AC Milan collapsed in January afer he failed a medical, although the France striker returned to scored the winning goal as Palace beat Rayo Vallecano 1-0 in the Conference League final.
DONE DEAL! Newcastle seal Fernandez-Pardo deal
10:00 a.m. - Newcastle might now have wrapped up a really tidy window, one that didn't look at all likely when Anthony Gordon, Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali and boss Eddie Howe headed through the exit door. But four points out of six so far under new head coach Matthias Jaissle have restored a feel-good factor at St James' Park and Belgium forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo is the latest man to want in on it.
The versatile attacker joins from Lille for $69m. The Ligue 1 club have raked in plenty for their young talents during this window, having driven a hard bargain before signing off on Ayyob Bouaddi joining Manchester City for $115.1m.

DONE DEAL: Barcelona sign Gabriel Jesus
9:01 a.m. -Gabriel Jesus has completed his move to Barcelona, who have paid Arsenal a reported fee of around $16m. The Brazilian has signed a three-year deal.
Will Man City get Fernandez deal done?
9:00 a.m. - The biggest projected deal of the day involves Enzo Fernandez. The Argentina midfielder is wanted by Manchester City and is eager to reunite with former boss Enzo Maresca. Chelsea appear content to sell, but only if they are able to bring in a replacement.
According to Ben Jacobs, that is the biggest issue holding up the transfer right now.
DONE DEAL: Another new signing for Aston Villa
7:55 a.m. - Aston Villa's squad overhaul continues! They have finally completed a deal for long-term target Taylor Harwood-Bellis. The defender joins from Southampton for around $40.6m.

DONE DEAL: Arsenal outcast heads for Hamburg
7:10 a.m. - Fabio Vieira, who hasn't played a Premier League game for Arsenal since 2023/24, is off to Hamburg, where he spent last season on loan. The fee is in the region of $10.8m.

DONE DEAL: An Honest agreement for Chelsea, Palace
6:55 a.m. - Chelsea have signed Honest Ahanor from Atalanta for a reported fee of $54m. However, he won't actually play for the Blues until 2027; instead, he will go on loan to Crystal Palace.

6:39 a.m. - What a deal is this is for Villa! Paris Saint-Germain youngster Ibrahim Mbaye joins the Premier League club for a fee of around $63.6m. The teenager joins after Villa's interest in Rafael Leao ended last week.

RUMOR: Palace hijack Sunderland deal to sign Arsenal target Fofana
5:39 am. - Well, this one took a turn! Arsenal had looked like securing a deal for Malick Fofana today, but the Lyon winger is now heading for a Sunderland medical, David Ornstein reports.
8:39 a.m. - This is becoming quite the saga: Crystal Palace are now in talks directly with Fofana and trying to convince him to join them ahead of Sunderland, Sky Sports are saying...
RUMOR: Chelsea make offer for Lamine Camara
5:39 am. - Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Chelsea have made an offer to Monaco for midfielder Lamine Camara. Although the €45m ($52m / £38m) bid is said to be too low, this is a deal that could well get done before the deadline if Enzo Fernandez joins Man City.

DONE DEAL: Hull City sign striker Ansah
5:32 a.m. - Hull City have completed the signing of Ilyas Ansah from Union Berlin. Florian Plettenberg previously reported the fee was worth €24 million (£20.6m / $27.8m).
RUMOR: Chelsea trying to sign Manu Kone from Roma
5:28 a.m. - Sky in Italy are reporting that Chelsea want to push through a last-minute deal to sign midfielder Manu Kone from Roma. This appears to have come from initial discussions between the clubs about a possible loan for Jamie Gittens. However, Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini has reportedly made it clear he does not want the club to sell Kone today.
DONE DEAL: Marc Guiu joins RB Leipzig from Chelsea
5 a.m. - Chelsea remain the masters of selling players. Striker Marc Guiu has joined RB Leipzig, with the fee reported by Fabrizio Romano to be £15 million ($20.3 million). That represents decent profit on a player signed for less than half that amount two years ago.

What time does the transfer window close?The transfer deadline for Premier League clubs falls on Tuesday, September 1 at 11 p.m. local time (6 p.m. ET). The deadline for Spain's top clubs in La Liga is one minute before that on the same day, while Italy has a 2 p.m. ET deadline on September 1.
The deadlines in France and Germany are exactly 24 hours earlier than the one for Serie A teams.
The Dutch Eredivisie window closes on September 2, two days before the deadline for Turkish Super Lig clubs to make signings.

The window for clubs in the Saudi Pro League closes a little later than in Europe's major leagues, shutting on October 12.
Even though the Pro League has collectively dialled back its huge spending, this creates a useful period of time for players who have not secured a move within Europe to get on the move.
Is the MLS transfer window open?
The MLS extended its secondary transfer window to run from July 13 to September 2 to further align with the wider global soccer schedule.
MLS will eventually be shifting to a fully European calendar starting next summer.
