Wife and I just moved into a house with this unusual bedroom upstairs. Looking for ideas on how to optimize this space, specifically closet wise. #1 requirement is the closet in the 2nd photo has to be removed to make room for HVAC vents on that wall. Pardon the mess, we have a half dozen other projects going on in the house and the room is currently a dumping ground. Below are our ideas

Ideas:
Mid-wall closet replacement:
Make the nook area to the right of the stairs (where the ironing board is) a walk in closet, but adding a walk in with a covered ceiling in this room means a large flat top that I think would look awkward. The closets with their boxed off tops in this space look odd enough as they are. We thought about leaving the top open but sunlight beating down on our clothes from the huge windows would probably fade them.

Corner closet:
Expand this closet to wrap around the gray chimney next to it, and instead of being rectangular it would have three outer walls, and extending the walls to the ceiling

Loft area:
Replace the railing with vertical wooden rails that extend from edge of the loft floor to the ceiling to make the space a bit more enclosed. This space would be a reading area/music space/extra home office space.

Thank you!
