A tiny but huge surprise.

Adopting one cat is a big enough decision. It's a commitment for many years. It's being responsible for another living creature. Cats may be low-maintenance pets, but they still require attention, love and care. Adopting a stray female cat is all of that plus something else. It always comes with a question. You don't know what a stray cat has been through before coming to you, and with female cats… it's important to bring them to the vet as soon as possible to find out if there is another loaf baking in the oven.

Of course, vets can be wrong sometimes. They are human beings, and that is something that you have to take into account as well. We don't often think about that, since we trust our vets so deeply. But the price of your vet making a mistake on a cat pregnancy test is both tiny and huge at the same time. As shanemente52 on Reddit found out.

The vet told them that the stray cat they found and adopted is not pregnant. Unequivocally not pregnant. No chance. Except she was. In her over, an itty bitty loaf was baking. One loaf. One bun. One kitten. This kitten is going to be loved and spoiled rotten her entire life. Because although the people who found this cat were not planning on adopting a cat and a kitten, that is exactly what they decided to do.
