Apart from a fear of flying, one of the things many passengers dread is falling ill mid-flight. Being 40,000 feet in the air with no doctor on board is hardly a reassuring thought, so imagine the worry when several people suddenly become extremely unwell around you, cabin crew start wearing face masks and the pilot announces that medical teams will be waiting when you land.
