A 2026 sci-fi adventure with a Jurassic world makes a jump to home viewing sooner than expected. After arriving in theaters in August, the $118 million production is now available to watch digitally, giving audiences a chance to check out one of this year’s bigger genre releases from home.

The End of Oak Street has already hit digital streaming

The End of Oak Street is now available to buy or rent digitally as of Sept. 15 through platforms including Amazon Video and Apple TV/iTunes. David Robert Mitchell wrote and directed the movie, while J.J. Abrams, Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, Matt Jackson and Tommy Harper joined him as producers. The theatrical run began Aug. 14, 2026, and the movie carries a PG-13 rating with a 100-minute runtime. Its reported domestic theatrical gross stands at $53.4 million.

Keep in mind, The End of Oak Street isn’t connected to Universal’s Jurassic World/Jurassic Park franchise. The Warner Bros. movie puts its own spin on a dinosaur-centric world by using time travel. Everything changes for the Platts when Oak Street vanishes without warning, leaving the family stranded in a strange world far removed from the suburb they knew.

Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor lead the cast as Denise and Greg Platt, while Maisy Stella and Christian Convery portray their children, Audrey and Brian. Jordan Alexa Davis, P.J. Byrne, Hudson Meek and Anne Gee Byrd also join the cast.

The dinosaur spectacle has landed on fairly solid ground with audiences and critics alike. Rotten Tomatoes gives the movie an 86% Tomatometer score and a 76% Popcornmeter rating, while IMDb currently places it at 6.5/10. Many especially enjoyed the movie’s creature-heavy set pieces, practical effects and nostalgic blockbuster feel.

Rotten Tomatoes critics have even called it “pulpy good fun.” Still, the response has not been completely glowing. Some have criticized the uneven CGI and questioned inconsistencies within the story.

Part of the movie’s charm comes from how it fuses nostalgia with a more unsettling edge. Its ’80s backdrop has prompted comparisons to the adventurous blockbusters associated with the Amblin era, while the darker atmosphere has also won praise. Anne Hathaway previously explained to PEOPLE that Poltergeist played a role in attracting her to the project.
