Two white males – who claimed to be first-time voters – are accused of trolling the ANC, and Secretary General Fikile Mbalula – after they pledged to vote for the political party in the local government elections on Wednesday, 4 November.

The youth were later seen supporting a rival party – MK Party.

WHITE YOUNG MALES ACCUSED OF TROLLING ANC AT VOTING STATION

In a video clip originally posted by Mail & Guardian, 18-year-old Yosef Sher and his pal, both sporting ANC T-shirts, were seen chatting outside their local voting station at Orange Grove Primary School in Johannesburg.

The white males claimed they were first-time voters and supported the ANC.

Sher told the publication in a clip: “We need change over here in Johannesburg. It’s a very important thing to vote. There are consequences of not voting. The ANC had their chances, but I think I will give them one more chance. They can change the city of Johannesburg for everyone”.

He added: “I’ve wanted to vote my whole life, and now I can finally do it”

The video was reposted by ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula, who also cast his vote at the same voting station. He captioned the clip: “First-time voters at Orange Grove Primary, Johannesburg are coming out saying they want to give the ANC a chance to continue and that voting is an amazing feeling that they’ve waited their entire lives to do”.

The duo were accused of trolling both the ANC and Fikile.

“Shem!”, commented DA leader Helen Zille, who is campaigning to become Johannesburg’s next mayor.

Music artists The Kiffness added: “These lovely Jewish boys are trolling. They’re not even old enough to vote. They just wanted the free shirt”
