The games I hate the most or do the worst in are the ones where the opponent brings out their Queen early.
Whenever my opponent brings out their Queen early, they usually go around my defenses and things get too cramped for my pieces to defend each other. The Queen then proceeds to munch on all the pieces I’m unable to defend.
Even on the games I review where I consistently made the best moves to defend against the threat, it leaves my side of the board in awkward positions and leaves some of my pieces trapped behind others. Yes, the tradeoff is their side is less developed, but I want to shut their Queen down early and wondered if there were any defenses I could learn to prevent the Queen devastation.
