If you’re itching to do something now that the weather’s warmer but don’t want to break the bank, Cape Town has plenty to offer for R100.
This October, you can choose between arts and culture, sports, family and silly fun.

The city has enough family-friendly activities and good hangouts with friends.
But if you’re on a strict budget, remember: R100 gets you in the door; you may need to budget more for food and drink once inside.
Watch DHL Stormers Play
The DHL Stormers have several fixtures this October. Tickets for seats in the E-section are R90.
Each game takes place on a Saturday in October.
Kick-off typically starts at 16:00, with gates opening at 14:15.
The only exception is the last Saturday game, when kick-off is at 14:15.
Starting on 10 October, they’ll play the Hollywoodbets Sharks. Then on 17 October, they’ll play the Bristol Bears.
They’ll also play the Scarlets on 24 October, and conclude with a game against Ulster Rugby on 31 October.
Attend a Cricket Match
If you’re looking for something to do during the work week, you can attend a cricket match.
The YesPlay Western Province Cobras will play Boland on 14 October 2026 starting 18:00 at Newlands Stadium.
Tickets start at R30.
Watch Cars Race in Killarney
Hear the engines roar in Killarney.
On Saturday 17 October, the Power Series heads into its second-to-last round.
Drivers will be racing for a spot on the podium.
Adult tickets are R100 on Webticket and children under 12 enter for free.
Fly a Kite
If you’re craving family fun, head to the Youngsfield Military Base for the Cape Town International Kite Festival in Ottery.
In addition to flying your own kite, you can view the spectacular designs of international kiters.
The event happens on the weekend of the 24th.
Tickets for children and pensioners start at R60. Adults pay just over R100, including fees.
Picnic blankets and folding chairs are allowed. But attendees can’t bring outside food or drink.
Watch a Pan-African Film
If you want to enjoy something in the arts, head to the Labia Theatre in Gardens on the last Friday of the month.
The Theatre, in collaboration with the Zeitz MOCAA, will be screening a Pan-African film.
On 30 October, the screening will be of Sambizanga (1972), directed by Sarah Maldoror.
Tickets are R30.
Take an Improv Class
Billed as a way to improve your confidence, if you’re looking for something fun to do on a Sunday, head to Newlands for an improv class.
Oops on Purpose hosts their weekly Spontaneous Sundays.
The classes start at 17:30 and end at 19:30. Entry is R75.
Bring a friend or two or come alone to The Hok on Thicket Street, Newlands.
Enjoy a Zombie Walk
Looking for something to do on Halloween? You can join the Zombie Walk.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, 31 October.
Details about where this will be are still to be announced, but the event will start at 16:00.
The walk itself is free, and organisers expect attendees to dress the part.
But entry to the after-party starts at R50.
