Q: My best friend and I used to grab beers after work or catch a game almost every week. He bought a house last year and they had a baby a few months later. He's been picking up a ton of overtime to cover the mortgage and the daycare costs that are coming. Whatever free time he does have goes to weekend activities with other couples who have babies or toddlers of their own. I get why he needs that community right now. Meanwhile, I make a solid income, don't live large, and have a lot more free evenings and money than he does right now. I keep getting quietly left out of plans, and I've started noticing the same thing happening with a couple of my other friends who have kids too. I don’t want to lose my best friend from grade school. I just don't know how to stay friends when his life has so little room left in it right now. ~Evan Read More
