Which is the modern way to generate PDFs in Kotlin/Android?

I need to generate a PDF from a Room query. I looked into android.graphics.pdf.PdfDocument, but recreating custom layouts and handling page breaks manually is really tedious. I also checked some GitHub libraries, but most seem abandoned. Is there a simpler way to create PDFs? Also, what options would you recommend for Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP)?
