Over the weekend, the 2026 Philippine Hot Wheels Collectors Convention took place, and there, an exclusive set of Hot Wheels cars was auctioned off for an astounding P1.35 million. The models themselves are a pair of Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II (BNR34) diecasts, adorned in special Philippine-themed livery.
Wearing number 88, the GT-Rs feature a red, white, and blue shell, with matching white wheels and an additional black spoiler. However, what really ties everything together is the commemorative packaging. It proudly displays the Philippine Hot Wheels Collectors Convention logo, with our nation’s sun and three stars right behind it.

While P1.35 million is an eyebrow-raising amount for a couple of tiny cars, this has become a sentimental sale for the convention’s organizers. In a statement posted on its website, the team behind the Philippine Diecast Expo expressed: “The winning bid is not an indication that every Hot Wheels car is suddenly worth millions. It represents what can happen when rarity, strong demand, and passionate collectors come together in one room.

After wrapping up this latest Hot Wheels convention, the organizers are now preparing for the 2026 Philippine Diecast Expo. The event is scheduled for November 14-15, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center Manila.
