The Women's Super League table is starting to take shape after the first four matches of the 2026-27 campaign.

Reigning champions Manchester City are the only team with a 100% record still intact, after four straight wins to open the campaign.

Behind them, Chelsea and Tottenham are the only other teams yet to taste defeat, while London City Lionesses are also in touching distance of the top.

Arsenal have made a stuttering start, which was compounded by a 1-0 loss to Chelsea last time out, and things do not get any easier as they travel to City this weekend.

Things were more positive for Manchester United, who held out for their first league win under Eva Olid last time out, moving up the table and leaving four clubs without a victory.

So, who will come out on top in the WSL this weekend?

MANCHESTER UNITED V LIVERPOOL

The action begins on Saturday, with Manchester United and Liverpool both looking to build on morale-boosting wins, against West Ham and Everton, respectively.

Gareth Taylor (81) is aiming to tie former United boss Marc Skinner (82) for the second-most managerial wins in WSL history – only Emma Hayes (151) has recorded more – and our predictive model gives that a 17% chance of happening.

As it stands, United are heavy favourites to take all three points at 63.6%, given they have won four of their five WSL home matches against the Reds (L1).

United have conceded in each of their last 11 home league games, though, which might give Liverpool hope of earning consecutive WSL wins for the first time since March 2025 under Amber Whiteley.

Despite a 19.4% chance of a draw, there has never been a stalemate between these teams in the competition in nine previous meetings (six United wins, three Liverpool victories).

1 – Andrea Medina scored a goal, created four chances, won eight duels and had 11 touches in the opposition box in yesterday's win over West Ham.

She is the first @ManUtdWomen player in WSL history to produce all of those numbers in one match.

ASTON VILLA V CRYSTAL PALACE

It has been a tough start to the season for Aston Villa, who have gone winless in their four games (D2 L2), leading to Natalia Arroyo’s dismissal on Tuesday.

Brian Sorensen is in interim charge and will be in the dugout when Villa host Crystal Palace.

The hosts are the favourites to take the points, however, with a 45.2% win likelihood to Palace’s 27.9%.

Villa could go winless across their opening five matches of a WSL campaign for the third time (after 2023-24 and 2024-25), but they have won three of their last five league meetings with Palace (D1 L1).

Palace, meanwhile, have lost just one of their opening four league matches this term (W1 D2) – the fewest defeats of any promoted side at this stage of a single WSL campaign.

BRIGHTON V CHARLTON ATHLETIC

Two teams still searching for their first win go head-to-head at the Amex, with Brighton and Charlton Athletic desperate for their maiden victory of 2026-27.

Charlton are the only team still without a point – they could become the third team to lose their first five matches in the competition, after Yeovil Town (first seven in 2017) and Leicester City (first nine in 2021-22).

But Brighton are also winless in their last seven WSL games (D4 L3). Only once before have they endured a longer streak: nine between November 2022 and April 2023.

The Seagulls are tipped to come out on top, winning 58.6% of Opta's pre-match simulations, while Charlton only triumph in 19.8%.

EVERTON V BIRMINGHAM CITY

Birmingham City (23.7%) are another team still searching for a first victory, while Everton (51.8%) are looking to bounce back from their Merseyside derby defeat.

Everton are unbeaten in each of their last five WSL games against Birmingham (W3 D2), while they won the most recent meeting 2-0 in the League Cup last month.

4 – Only Rachel Williams (6) has scored more goals in their first four WSL appearances than Océane Hurtré (4), with both doing so for Birmingham City Women.

Birmingham went unbeaten in their first seven away games against Everton in the WSL (W3 D4), but they did lose 3-1 in the most recent of those, in September 2021.

Worryingly for the Blues, they have lost the most points from winning positions in the top flight so far this term (four), which is something Amy Merricks will be keen to improve on sooner rather than later, if Birmingham open the scoring at Goodison Park.

TOTTENHAM V LONDON CITY LIONESSES

London City Lionesses went second after their win over Brighton last time out, but their stint behind Man City lasted less than 24 hours as they were leapfrogged by Tottenham.

Alexia Putellas made her mark in that victory, scoring her first goal for the club, ending her longest goal drought in top-flight football (seven games) since December 2017 (eight games for Barcelona); the Spaniard has ended on the winning side in 129 of the last 130 league games she has netted in.

Given that record, another goal from her would be welcome, given the Lionesses have lost each of their three away games against Spurs in all competitions by an aggregate score of 11-1.

4 – Tottenham have now scored 4+ goals in back-to-back WSL games for the first time in their history.

Spurs are in strong form, too; only in 2021-22 (12) have they won more points after four games of a WSL campaign than their 10 in 2026-27, though a win in this match would see them set a club record for their best points return after five games (12 in 2021-22 and 2025-26).

It is the hosts who are backed to come out on top, with a 45.3% win probability. London City’s chances sit at 27.8%, but this is the other most likely draw of the matchday at 26.9%.

WEST HAM V CHELSEA

Chelsea have made an unbeaten – albeit not completely convincing – start in the WSL, extending that run with a dogged 1-0 victory over Arsenal.

The Blues' attention now turns to West Ham, and Sonia Bompastor’s side are the most likely winners this weekend according to the supercomputer, with a 74% chance of victory.

They are unbeaten in all 16 of their WSL meetings with the Hammers (W14 D2), while West Ham have lost all eight of their home games against Chelsea in the competition by an aggregate score of 26-2.

West Ham were 2-1 winners against London City in their most recent derby, though that is their only win this season (L3). They are given an 11.4% chance of getting a first WSL win against Chelsea, and a further 14.6% chance of claiming a point.

MANCHESTER CITY V ARSENAL

The action concludes with a huge clash on Sunday.

Arsenal know they cannot afford to drop more points if they want to keep Manchester City in their sights, even at this early stage.

Arsenal suffered more frustration in the Women’s Champions League, throwing away a 2-0 lead against Paris FC to draw 2-2, partly due to Leah Williamson's freak handball in the box after a defensive mix-up.

And things only seem to be getting tougher. City have won each of their last 14 home games in the WSL and could set the outright second-longest streak on home turf in the competition (Chelsea went 22 without defeat).

Arsenal do lead the head-to-head between the sides, winning 12 of the previous 25 meetings between the pair (11 City wins, two draws).

City have a 49.4% chance of winning their opening five games of a WSL campaign for the third time, while Arsenal are given a 25.1% win likelihood after going winless across their last three league games (D2 L1).
