New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone may not want to walk around in the Big Apple in the next few days.

The Yankees suffered an embarrassing sweep against the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS, losing in Game 4 at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday. Fans immediately brought out their pitchforks and called for the axing of Boone, who has been with New York since 2018.

In the postgame conference, the 53-year-old manager sidestepped the question about his future.

“That’s for another day. Right now, it’s about trying to reflect on this, trying to connect with guys right now as much as I can,” said Boone in a video posted by SNY.

“I’m appreciative of a lot of things, but those conversations and things are for another day.”

Fans, however, were not appreciative of Boone, claiming that he grossly mismanaged the team against Tampa Bay.

“We need a real manager,” said @JAXhomme.

“LOL, sounds like we need to have the conversations now. Season’s over. No need to connect with anyone,” commented @_nickswaggerr.

“If he had any class, he would just walk away and admit he’s not qualified to win it all,” added @chefmattg17.

“Maybe this is finally it. It feels like it’s the end for Boone,” wrote @JayDhaul.

“We don’t want the fake sad voice. We want new leadership! Guys need someone with balls who’ll keep them accountable. This is the BRONX!” stated @Coach_Stevenss.

Boone lamented their “broken clubhouse” following their disappointing exit.

He signed a two-year, $15 million contract extension in 2025. He has amassed a 790-565 record in the regular season with the Yankees, steering them to the playoffs in eight of his nine seasons, including to the World Series in 2024.
